We've heard it a million times: first impressions are important. It is human nature to make assumptions about strangers. But the first few weeks a new job about more than just an impressive our boss and colleagues.
How we spend our days now will set the stage for the rest of our time in this company. In the long run, we will be able to do their job better if we know how to use the funds to work. There are probably all kinds of office devices and systems in place to help us.
Start learning the names (very important), but we knew that already have one, right? Do not assume that someone will keep our hands and let us introduce to everyone in the office. Take the initiative to reach out to people. I do not think that people will not notice when we forgot your name later and find all kinds of creative ways to solve them without it.
One of the best ways to build a solid working relationship with people is to spend time with them outside of work. Use formal and informal opportunities to meet our users better. We might even get a free drink on the card company once in awhile.
On the first day of work, you'll probably notice that people vary widely in their interpretation of 'business casual'. If we look too messy, people will get us seriously. On the other hand, if you show up to work overdressed, we may come across as someone who just does not "get it". For a good compromise, aimed to harmonize some of the best dressed people at the company level.
a good supervisor will give us something to sink your teeth into right away, even if it is trivial. If it does, find out whether there is a goal that we can start working toward next to any other training.
It's good to have a person who can teach us all things that are not found in the employee handbook. They can also help by answering the questions that we do not want to spend time with the boss. Just do not bug them too ...
After all this sobering advice, just remember that no one expects us overhaul company in the first two weeks (certainly not try). It will be understood that you have a lot to learn before you make any real contribution. That being said, do not let this attitude extended for too long or you might find yourself as a "new man" again much sooner than you think.
Following these simple and easy rules of office culture, we can give the effect of our arrival at the company, and our colleges.
